Sorry guys, I couldn't wait
Oh come on - you didn't really want to go anyway, right?
but the best part of my wedding was how my friend LOOKS like he's shaped all Roley-Poley like
he's actually quite thin -- this is called a magic trick, i mean an illusion
you know how i like magic?
Did you know I went to a wedding this weekend where there WAS a magician? It made me anxious when he did his illusions on me because I kept thinking, what if I don't pick the right card and expose him as a fraud? I was glad when it was over.
I don't want to play favorites but the best part of this weekend Might have been when i went to the largest movie screen in the world (it seats 1,200, come on!). I won't tell you what I saw for several reasons, but let's just say, it was good.

I was in a potato peeling contest - i lost
Did you loose part of your finger yesterday too?
I would show you a photo but there's enough blood and gore on this SITE
So I've heard complaints from all two of you that I needed to update Le Blog
and I decided I'd finally put the photo of me in a bikini up to stop the complaining. . .
wait - is this only funny to one of you?
Di might think it's funny
b/c it's really a shot of HER in a bikini - then she might punch me in the face.
Now, I'm going to tell you what I do on Sunday.
It involves Di too.
We were so inspired from Halloween we took to dressing like literary characters when we go to church.
Here she is as Charlie Bucket (she could not get enough of that costume this year) and I'm Auntie Mame, of course (technically this is me in the sequel, Around The World With Auntie Mame).
The next week she was Estragon and I was Vladimir, obviously. So here we are waiting, which I thought was hilarious and frustrating
and 'no' i'm not calling church a tragicomedy - you read too much into this sometimes.
And the third week Di was Hedda Gabler and I was Liberace (have you read Liberace: An American Boy? Classic!)
Actually, I should probably say we took to dressing like literary/theatrical characters for all you sticklers out there
Anyway, see what happen? See what happens Larry when you force me to post and I'm not ready?
Ha! You thought I was going to say 'see what happens Larry when you meet a stranger in the Alps?' but I stopped quoting the edited version of The Big Lebowski months ago. i normally don't care for edited films but they made that movie pretty darn funny.
Now's where I mention that I've been begging my dear friend, the Persian Princess, to post a photo of her in a bikini and then she finally did and asked me where mine was, ergo the first photo on this post now has an explanation.
Although, I wonder if she will be angry at me for poaching her precious proof of immodesty?

Sorry but I have to be serious
So maybe a while back I sent you an email about signing a petition for the release of Esha Momeni, an American Grad student who was arrested in Iran. Esha is a friend of My dear dear friend Sheri -you remember her from
HERE
Esha was released today (maybe yesterday? they announced it today) HERE
I usually don't sent forwards (except the recipe forward -thanks mom) but Esha could have been my friend Sheri or my other Persian Princess, Bek, & if either of those two went to prison I would have to go Iran & insist on being arrested, find them & then help them escape & then I'd be brave enough to return those white feathers. . .
No seriously, this hit so close to home I felt ill about it and there was a happy ending. For some reason oppressed women in the Middle East was a topic of conversation at my family dinner table when I was growing up. Mom doesn't read my blog but she made sure we were aware of the injustices of the world, so I thank her for that.
And thanks Mich for forwarding the CNN link!

Guys, have you met . . .
. . . Our Lady? Here she is on the right
Why are she + Di so happy?
Oh right, they ate all our desserts.
That's cool, I didn't want delicious desserts anyway.
Moving on
Our Lady ran a famous race.
And there were 3 of us who went to watch her
And cheer her on
And when we realized we somehow didn't see her - even with 6 eyes looking out - Di helped make the trip worth it
Come on - it was worth it no matter what.
I Almost Almost considered running one

Remember when I was a single mom?
So when My Daughter Pearl heard about Halloween she insisted that she have her own costume.
She decided to be her most recent favorite movie character
We were shocked to see other people had her idea. Instead of being disappointed at her lack of creativity (we hope this bland phase passes her soon) we decided to make a game of it - taking photos of all the people with similar costumes.
But Mommy got bored of this real quick. (and how can you top this gorgeous couple?)
Then Pearl saw this lady
so we tried to recreate it with her (kids can be really demanding)
she Loved this one as you can see
but people were giving me disapproving stares
(like when my mom used to roller skate down the street holding my brother when he was a baby. I can share that with you because it's true and she doesn't read my blog).
We ran into Dimmesdale which was strained yet pleasant
Overall The Child and I had a nice evening with just mild bouts of puritanical guilt
i told you i liked shadows

Uh oh - remember how I get in trouble on Halloween?
I'll have to wait and see if this year was the same (it usually takes a few weeks for the repercussions).
Moving on, It looks like literary characters where the theme this year
Here's Little One as Medea
Here's a Thomas Hardy joke that went too far
You could try & interpret my choice in costume but it's not what you think
or is it? never mind, it probably is
Fidel Castro is a literary character, right?
Just Kidding, Nuevo wasn't Castro he was Edgar Allan Poe as a Park Ranger (here he is dancing with Charlie Bucket)
How sweet it was of him to help poor Charlie Bucket tie his laces?
Was Ghostbusters a book before it was a film? That sounds about right.
Then there was Little Mrs. Kieren who almost dressed as Ophelia
I'm sure we could find some Shakespearean character to attribute to this dress
Oh don't you worry, I have more.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
