Remember when I was a single mom?

So when My Daughter Pearl heard about Halloween she insisted that she have her own costume.
She decided to be her most recent favorite movie character





We were shocked to see other people had her idea. Instead of being disappointed at her lack of creativity (we hope this bland phase passes her soon) we decided to make a game of it - taking photos of all the people with similar costumes.





But Mommy got bored of this real quick. (and how can you top this gorgeous couple?)



Then Pearl saw this lady

so we tried to recreate it with her (kids can be really demanding)



she Loved this one as you can see


but people were giving me disapproving stares
(like when my mom used to roller skate down the street holding my brother when he was a baby. I can share that with you because it's true and she doesn't read my blog).


We ran into Dimmesdale which was strained yet pleasant




Overall The Child and I had a nice evening with just mild bouts of puritanical guilt

The 2 cutest creatures ever born

Hey guys, it's my favorite time of year

Also let me tell you what I did today...
I was walking across a huge parking lot to Ash's apt. & I noticed I was catching up to an old lady who was walking directly in front on me. Then as I was about 6 feet behind her I noticed that my shadow was super close to her shadow and i thought, 'could my shadow touch her shadow right now?' so i reached my hand out and grabbed her shadow's leg. She abruptly stopped, Glared at me and let me walk past her.
I guess she could see both shadows too. . . I smiled at her and said, 'um, hi.' which might be creepy. And I think me wearing a trench coat and hat didn't help the situation.

For a half a second I thought I could explain but what would i say, 'my shadow is tall. i want to touch other shadows. and then look into/ steal your soul.' ?

It got a bit worse when I entered Ash's building from a separate entrance and ran into Old Lady at the elevators and she said, 'oh, you're here.' and i smiled again (because i'm a nice witch), said 'yes' and then ran to the stairwell.

I'm sure next time I go into her building instead of this:

How is it possible that St. Athanasius of Alexandria isn't as famous as St. Augustine (come on, like you really read Confessions?), considering his view of what man has the potential to become? The fact that the Russian Orthodox church digs his teachings just ups his cool factor exponentially, which goes to show all good ideas came from Russia first. I mean the Russian mir seems to me the perfect combination of my religious beliefs and sweet sweet Communism (sorry Mich, Hi Niall!). And while we're on the topic of Mother Russia
