OK guys, I'll tell you about THAT day

If you ever wondered what I'd look like dead:

I wanted you to see the awesome-ness of the scar so much I don't even care I have chins (plural)

So my board hit me in the eye...

To be fair, I kind of deserved it.

This is me realizing I have a high tolerance to anesthetic

This is my sister experiencing empathy

Or is it fear?

If I were in a Tim Burton film I'd look like this:

It's like I have a really sinister eyebrow

Remember when Carlos saved my life?

Notice I gave him his shirt back from the photo above - the blessed garment that stopped me from dying from extensive blood loss.

I wonder why everyone in the water knew I was the girl who got hurt?

Turns out, sunshine and sea water aren't THAT bad for new stitches

Except they will bleed and hurt surprisingly a lot when they take them out

Uh oh - remember when I got mad at Ash for stealing my wave?

Looks like I did it to her once -- this has nothing to do with my head injury. I just wanted you to know I'll steal your wave any chance I get.

My face getting split open wasn't the only accident

OK, this one made me MAD

So this is me - clearly CLEARLY I have dibs on this wave

but little Monkey decided that...
SHE wanted to get in on the photo op
or show me up (because let's be honest she was a way better surfer)
or Maybe it was the trusy ol' Sister Gene kicking in where you want exactly what your sister wants just because and in reality you don't Really want it. . .

And this is a nice photo compared to what happened. We basically beat each other up using our boards, the waves and our bodies. She's lucky she didn't pop my stitches open - or else she would have walked away with a lot worse than bruised ribs.

OK - maybe I didn't cause her bruised ribs but I'll take credit for it anyway.

You know the song from Flight of the Conchords?

This is a Doggy Don't

Seriously - how many poor breeds of dogs had to be erm, compromised before this little lady was born?

I guess the Planned Parenthood hasn't reached the Canis lupus familiaris in Costa Rica.

I learned 2 Things Today

When I was 12 I hit my head on a rock and had to get stiches. . . and apparently if I'm going to get stiches I guess there's just one acceptable place for me to get them.

Also when I was younger and I went to the dentist I always required twice as much novacaine as the normal patient.

And today when I got hit in the head with my board (but I was standing up right before I fell and that's all that really matters, right?) and had to get 7 stiches I learned that I require twice as much novacaine on my face - and I learned this as I felt stich 4 -5 -6 and 7 as if this was olden times and ana-stee-ja (Spell check in Spanish is not going to help this post so you have to read phoenetically) did not work.

Before the 'Doctor' started to sew me up I jokingly (cruel irony!) asked my dad to hold me down while Ash took a walk in the woods. Turns out my dad had to leave the room (at stich 4) and Ash had to come in and talk to me as I had a needle and thread pull on my open wound.

I've never hated sweing more in my whole life.

What I learn:
stiches in head only for ME
i have a high tolerance for drugs
